Annual Facts

Texas Behavioral Health Center
Tarek K. Rajji, M.D., Department Chair

Fiscal Year 2026 was a vital year for us. In June 2026, we welcomed our first patients to the Texas Behavioral Health Center, Dallas-Fort Worth’s first state-funded psychiatric hospital. This new facility will offer 292 psychiatric beds, allow for novel models of care, shedding light into brain and behavior, and provide new opportunities for learners.

Patient Care at Texas Behavioral Health Center

We continued to excel in training future colleagues and work at the frontier of knowledge on causes and treatment for mental disorders. These are exciting times and I am delighted to share this small glimpse into our department.
